My Week of CVSing: June 15th-21st

June 20, 2008 · 3 comments

Well, Frugal Friends, slim pickins’ this week at CVS. Nothing super duper incredible to report like last week given the lack of $/$$ coupons and not many deals.

However, I am completely content since I am thoroughly stocked up on most of our household needs thanks to CVS.

Here is what I bought:

In 3 transactions:

Receipt #1
1 Almay Mascara w/bonus eyeliner (weekly deal)
1 Listerine Smart Rinse (free monthly deal)

-$1 Almay coupon from insert
-$1 Listerine coupon here
Paid: $7 ECB
Total OOP: $1.48
Earned: $3.49, $5 ECB

Receipt #2
2 Sally Hanson quick dry nail pens (weekly deal)
1 J&J Baby Shampoo (trial size)
1 Tylenol ES 24ct
1 York Mint (filler, not pictured)

-$1 J&J coupon here
-$3 Sally Hansen coupon here
-$2 Tylenol coupon here
Paid: $15 ECB
Total OOP: $0.47
Earned: $2, $10 ECB

Receipt #3
1 Huggies Natural Care shampoo
1 Hunts diced tomatoes (on clearance, filler)

-$1 Huggies coupon from insert
-$1 CVS Huggies coupon from mailer
Paid: $2 ECB
Total OOP: $0.34
Earned: $2 ECB

Grand Total OOP: $2.29!

Total Saved: $37.12

I am pretty excited about trying those Nail Pens after reading rave reviews over at my Cafe Mom group.

A few other items I looked for but they were always out of stock:

Oral B Cross Action Power Toothbrushes (weekly deal, use BOGO coupon from 6/15 SS insert)
Brut Deodorant (monthly deal)

Oh well, I have plenty on hand. I did confirm that the Listerine Smart Rinse is a limit of 4, not 2 as advertised. My daughter just adores this stuff!

Have you tried CVS yet? Since March of this year, I have now saved $1328.50 by strategically shopping with coupons and Extra Care Bucks (ECBs).

If you haven’t started, what are you waiting for? Send me your CVS questions anytime, I am here to help!
