The kids were perfectly happy with PBS and videos. I hate sitcoms, talk shows, and soaps(most shows that are on public tv, really), so we got satellite(only in the living room, the tv in our room only works with DVDs or VHS).<br/><br/> Now we are much happier with The Discovery Channel, The History Channel, National Geographic and the Sci-Fi channel. We don't have cable either...but we do have lots of movies to watch when we do watch TV...and my sons like PBS Kids, which is free also. We also subscribed to Netflix which is much cheaper than cable. We do miss it during football season when our team is playing on ESPN! That’s great!
