Then Sings My Soul Saturday: Cardboard Testimony

July 19, 2008 · 12 comments

I saw this clip over on Simply A Musing Blog, one of the hundreds many blogs I stalk read.

Karen says, “This was absolutely, positively one of the most powerful uses of a testimony I have ever seen.”

A few weeks ago, our church actually used this concept during a song as well. My husband and I had the honor of being card holders and participating on stage along with several others.

During all three services, people cheered and cried as each card was flipped. Each time, I was moved to tears by the overwhelming realization of God’s power.

What did our card say? On the first side:

“Not Honoring God Financially”

Flipped:

“Financially Honoring God”

Although our card could have stated a dozen other major events in our lives, becoming disciples who put the “Kingdom First” with our finances has truly changed our family, our marriage, and our children’s future.

It was a powerful statement, one that hopefully touched the hearts of others who may be struggling with their finances.

Alyssa….LOVE this. I can even hear the song in my head…”Then sings my soul….my Savior God to Thee…how great Thou art…” Ah…beautiful choice. :)

Great choice! This video and song are so powerful. I bet it was even more so with your own church family. How awesome that you got to participate.

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing! That was awesome! What a simple yet powerful idea . . . I could have so many things to write on my card :)

Alyssa, I’m still wiping tears from my cheeks. What a moving video. I’ve seen it done elsewhere via YouTube, but this one just spoke to me.

Thanks for sharing.
