Bloggy Recap For July

August 6, 2008 · 7 comments

August really snuck up on me this year. We are half-way through our family vacation in California. Reflecting on the summer reminded me to recap last month’s numbers for y’all.

Now, numbers are not the most important aspect of blogging. However, the more I see them climb, the more responsible I feel for producing quality content that is in line with my mission.

“When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required.” Luke 12:48

July was a busy bloggy month, indeed.

  • The number of visitors increased a whopping 115%!
  • Pageviews increased 157%.
  • The number of subscribers more than doubled, and more than 400 of you are now regularly reading this blog. That just makes my head spin, y’all.

Most visitors arrive on this blog via another. This is the beauty of the blogosphere–a true community. My blog would not be what it is today without the help of many blogging friends.

A Big Thanks to the Top 10 Referrers for the month of July:

  1. Money Saving Mom
  2. The “Cent”sible Sawyer
  3. Coupon Cravings
  4. Deal Seeking Mom
  5. Mommy Snacks
  6. Fiddledeedee!
  7. Little April Big World
  8. Mommy Minded
  9. Common Sense with Money
  10. Stretching A Buck

Once again, many visitors hopped over from Cafemom – A place for moms to make new friends, where I enjoy the CVS/Walgreens group among others. Thank you for stopping by!

I also must confess my new infatuation with Twitter. Amy from Mom Advice convinced me to give it a try. At first, I was pretty lost, but now I absolutely adore my new tweet friends! I have actually discovered it to be a fantastic resource for bloggers.

July Happenings:

The first of many videos was revealed.

I began a Frugal Friday series called The American Frugal Housewife.

My 10 Ways to Be the Worst CVS Shopper Ever was wildly popular.

We had BIG financial news to share!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read and comment here at Keeping the Kingdom First. I appreciate each and every one of my readers!

With that said, I must mention that the (unexpected) growth of this blog has come with some growing pains. I am horribly behind on responding to comments and emails. If you are waiting to hear back from me, please don’t take it personally!

I actually receive many emails asking if it is okay to link to my blog. Absolutely! Bloggers always appreciate the “linky love”, you know.

There are also many exciting things going on behind the scenes that I can’t wait to share! I am still learning how to balance it all–faith, family and frugality, along with a growing blog.

Stick around, August is sure to be a great month!

Blessings,

Hi Alyssa,

I found your blog a few days ago (probably in August, so I will be a part of this month’s statistics) and I love it! You have inspired me to take the plunge and start my own blog, just for me. I have wanted to do it, but felt inferior to everyone who seems to do it so well. I’ve also discovered couponing, and I really apreciate all of your resources in that area. Thanks for all you share!

Great job, Alyssa! I am so glad that I have been able to get to know you better through Twitter and can’t wait to meet you in person! You are doing a great job and should be really proud!

Hello! I have been reading your blog for about a month now and I am so thankful for it. I am new to couponing and new to cvs so your’re posts about them are really useful, but more importantly, you have inspired me to take care of what God has given me. Thanks Alyssa, for your great blog!
