Wordless Wednesday: Ice Storm!

January 28, 2009 · 8 comments

All over the interwebz, you may be seeing incredible photos of “Ice Storm 2009″. The news blares danger warnings, and the schools are shut down.

People are staying home and getting cozy, sipping hot chocolate, or perhaps enjoying the fresh snowfall with their children.

Here in DFW, the “Ice Storm” has come and gone. So I bring you some more amazing photos of the ice that has virtually shut town North Texas.

Wait for it…

Amazing, right?

So today I am enjoying some down time at home with my 2 girls. What does one do with 2 stir crazy children?

First, Sara peels a 1/4 inch layer of ice off of the trampoline and proudly shows it off. Wow!

Later today, Leah will hopefully enjoy a nice long nap, while Sara helps me get caught up on my coupons. Because I am so. utterly. behind.

What will you be doing on this lovely cold day?

Wow, that’s some scary ice right there! *snicker* Coming from NY, it drives me nuts that not all cities are ready for stuff like this. I know its a rarity but c’mon… lol

Have fun! :)

We’re enjoying an ice day here in Fort Worth! We rented several movies and stocked up on hot cocoa before the weather hit last night. Enjoy your day!

Wow! That is really crazy! I understand about it shutting down the whole town though – it would be the same way here! Sara and Leah are gorgeous!

Wow! I am so surprised you had an ice storm. It wasn’t too bad here today… got colder in the afternoon and we had some “suspicious” looking rain, but still around 40-50 degrees.

@ Lisa Not all cities are used to ice storms just as not all cities are used to over 100 degree heat. When a heat wave hits the north or midwest and people start to have heatstroke, I often wonder how can they not have an air conditioner?

Here in Cincinnati we got the ice…3/4 inch in my area with snow under it and snow on top. So, like you, we enjoyed the down time. Except for when the power was out for 4 hours. Got really ambitious and completely organized coupons…well, until 1/31 when a bunch more will expire!!
