New from Big Lots: Buzz Club Rewards

big lots logoAre you a BIG LOTS fan? If you shop there frequently, you can now join their new loyalty program to earn your way to 20% savings.

I stopped by my local Big Lots today to pick up a few essentials for my daughter’s upcoming slumber party (eeek!). At the checkout stand, I noticed an orange pamphlet with key chain cards tucked inside.

I also noticed their Summer seasonal items are clearanced to 75% off.

While I know loyalty cards sometimes get a bad rap, I believe they are a valuable tool for saving money when used the right way. Since I love Big Lots, I gladly signed up for mine and added it to my very full key chain!

Here is how the program works:

  • Make 10 qualifying purchases of $20 or more within a 12-month period and earn a 20% discount on a future purchase.
  • Buzz Club members also receive exclusive offers and 2-Day Ad previews.
  • Membership is free!

One caveat if you are new to shopping at BIG LOTS: they do not accept manufacturer coupons. {sob} But, they do have great deals on bread and other pantry essentials, in addition to a nice selection of furniture and home decor.

Thanks for the info. I am not a huge Big Lots shopper but I do go there sometimes.

Here’s an idea for the “very full key chain”: take off all the ones you don’t use on a daily (or maybe weekly) basis, and put them on a separate keychain that you keep in your glove box. Then just take it in with you when you go to one of those stores. Usually your car is wherever you are.

The only ones that live on my regular keychain are my normal grocery store card and library cards. (I also keep a coupon organizer in the glove box for non-grocery coupons like 2 for 1 meals, movies, that sort of thing, and clean it out once a month or so.)
