Wordless Wednesday: Spring Planting

spring-planting

After months of cold, pouring rain and even snow, the sun decided to make an appearance this week. Spring is in the air!

There is nothing like some dirt, a trowel and some $3 flowers to make for one very happy child. Frugal family fun at its finest, and definitely a finer thing.

What are you planting this Spring?

That’s one sweet springtime gal! :) It’s not quite warm enough to plant anything in Ohio yet, so we’re still waiting….

We’ll plant our vegetables that we are growing from seed in a couple of weeks. Haven’t decided on the flowers yet? Where did you get your flowers?

Oh, what a little sweetie! How fun!

Too funny, I posted about something similar today, but where we live, it’s too cold to plant outside, so I posted about how my DH and one of my little boys planted seeds in a seed starter! Bring on Spring!

I can’t wait for the tulips in my backyard to come up. My daughter always waits for that first sign of spring!

Whoo-hoo, me too! I started my seeds and it never fails to amaze me that they come up. I love Spring and new growth.

Oh, man! First, we need some spring back here… it was just teasing us a few weeks ago. Second, I desperately need some flowers. Veggies? I can grow those. Flowers? Notsomuch. Cute helper!

Well, we thought Spring was here. I guess I spoke too soon. Today? It is quite literally SNOWING! *sigh*

I’ve got my veggies (snap peas, green onions, basil, thyme) started, but my flowers are sitting snuggly in the garage while we wait for winter’s (hopefully) last blast to pass through this weekend! Who would have imagined snow when I bought them on Wednesday?

Tomatoes, cucumbers, sweet peppers, and squash will get put in around April 1. I have a very small raised veggie garden so I will have to do some squeezing. Might have to put a few pots around so there is enough space!
