Cascadian Farm Earth Day Pledge & Giveaway (Now Closed)

As I have said before, the small frugal steps we take eventually make a big impact. The same is true of simple steps to live a little greener. Unplugging an unused electronic, giving up paper towels, and turning off lights not only helps your budget, but the environment as well. It is also an important factor in good stewardship.

This Thursday, April 22nd marks the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. Cascadian Farm wants you to join the celebration by pledging to follow a few eco-friendly tips on Facebook. Choose from eight different pledges, ranging from reusing clothes to reducing your speed while driving on the highway, and find the one that fits your lifestyle.

For each person that signs a pledge now through May 31, 2010, Cascadian Farm will donate $1.00, up to $40,000, to the Organic Farming Research Foundation, which fosters the improvement and widespread adoption of organic farming systems. An easy to give while saving!

Right now they have around 3,000 pledges, but I know they can do better with our help! It just takes a moment of your time. Pledge here on Facebook.

Dedicated to organic goodness since 1972, Cascadian Farm products are grown without the use of synthetic pesticides, chemical fertilizers or genetically engineered ingredients. I absolutely love their products, especially the Dark Chocolate Almond Granola. Seriously, so good!

Did I mention there are always coupons for Cascadian Farm products? Visit to learn more and download a $1.00/1 printable coupon. You can also download a $1.00/1 e-Coupon via Cellfire.

I have a delicious prize pack of Cascadian Farm goodies for one lucky Keeping the Kingdom First reader.

  51. I’m going to try to be better about unplugging appliances when they aren’t being used. We “inherited” a large TV recently, and I have a feeling that it really chews up some electricity, even while sitting idle, so I want to try to keep it unplugged (maybe the extra effort of having to plug it in will even keep us from watching it as often!).

To me, it just makes good sense to recycle things, to use less water and electricity, to buy used clothing – it is good stewardship like you said. But it also makes good financial sense.
