It is an easy week for newbies.  All you need is an ExtraCare Card, a CVS ad, a printer and coupons to get started. Be sure to register your CVS loyalty card with Upromise for extra college savings.

Here is MY $5 Scenario for the week of April 18th:

Transaction #1
Buy 1 CVS Pharmacy Green Bag Tag @ $0.99

Total = $0.99

ECBs earned= $0.99

Transaction #2
Buy 1 ThermaCare Neck to Arm Heat Wrap 1 ct. @ $2.49
Pay with $0.99 ECBs from above

Total After ECBs= $1.50

ECBs earned=$2.49

Transaction #3
Buy 1 Edge Infused or Schick Hydro Shaving Cream @ $2.79
Pay with $2.49 ECBs from above

Total After ECB= $0.30

ECBs earned= $1.80

Grand Total OOP= $2.79

Total Value= $6.27 with $1.80 ECBs remaining

Keep rolling those ECBs for more savings!

Leaving a comment as you asked. I did go over the $5 by 46c…but it is because I included the 2 containers of coffee in my scenario. I also have another one made just for the Nivea deal… :-)

What is an ECB? Stupid question, probably. But I just don’t know.

ecb is short for ExtraCareBucks (customer rewards program) at CVS.

Ok, this is the first week I really tried this and succeeded! I bought the $.99 reusable bag, the $.99 bag tag and a card for a total of$3.18, and got $.99 ECB for the tag. Then in the next transaction I bought 2 Starbucks Frappaccinos (2/$3) and used 2 $1 off coupons and the $.99 ECB for a grand total of $.01! So for $3.19 I got a greeting card, 2 Starbucks drinks, 1 reusable bag and 1 bag tag! I was pretty excited :) And I’m already 1 scan closer to the ECB because of the bag tag!
