Pound for Pound Challenge: Kroger Gift Card Giveaway

July 2, 2010 · 240 comments

krogerMy faithful readers know that I am passionate about giving. I enjoy working with brands who find creative ways to give back.

Kroger Family Stores, General Mills, and other sponsors teamed up last month for the Biggest Loser Pound For Pound Challenge.  The sponsors are all set to donate up to $1,080,000 to Feeding America, who will then in turn deliver that contribution in food to local food banks across the country.

But these sponsors won’t just fork over the money on their own; they wanted Americans to get involved- and get healthier in the process.

For every pound participants pledged to lose through the Pound For Pound Challenge, the sponsors donated 14 cents to Feeding America- enough to deliver one pound of groceries to a food bank in your area.  While they are no longer accepting pledges, you can still help by making a donation directly to Feeding America.

Speaking of the Biggest Loser show on NBC, did you know that Kroger is the official supplier of the Ranch on the show? The show often features General Mills products such as Yoplait Greek yogurt (yum!), and other healthy options for the contestant.  Kroger Family Stores carry these General Mills products that could help you in your plan to lose or maintain weight. I also appreciate Kroger’s wide selection of organic products and produce.

Kroger wants to help one of my readers save a bit of money while stocking up on healthy food items.  Time for a little giveaway!

The prize: 1 winner will receive a $30.00 Kroger gift card that can be used at any Family Store including- Kroger, Fred Meyer, Ralph’s, King Soopers, City Market, Dillon’s, Smith’s, Fry’s, QFC, Baker’s, Owen’s, Jay C Food Stores, Hilander, Gerbes, Food4Less, Pay Less Super Markets and Scott’s Food & Pharmacy.

Enter to win (1) $30 Kroger Gift Card:

1. Leave a comment below: What healthy food items/snacks would you buy at Kroger with this gift card?

If you are reading via email or in a reader, please click through to the post to enter.

For up to (2) Bonus Entries (leave a separate comment)

2. If you are a subscriber or follower (thank you!), leave a comment. You may subscribe for free updates via RSS or email, and/or become a “fan” of KingdomFirstMom on Facebook.

3. Become a fan of Feeding America on Facebook or follow them on Twitter.

This giveaway will end on Wednesday, July 7th, at 11:59 pm CST. The winner will be drawn using Random.org, and notified via email.

Disclosure: The Kroger Family of Stores and General Mills through MyBlogSpark provided me with a Kroger gift card, as well as the giveaway prize.

I would use it to buy all kinds of new things in the health food/organic foods isles. I am hesitant to spend the money on some of that stuff … it looks good and has great attributes, but if we don’t like it then I’m out so much money… this would be a perfect way to try some of it without the “risk” of hurting our budget!!
