30-Day Giving Challenge Recap
Posted By Alyssa Francis On December 1, 2010 @ 12:23 am In 30-Day Giving Challenge | 4 Comments
“Give every day during the month of November.”
Participants from far and wide joined in to bless others. Hearts were changed. People gave generously… their time, talents, finances, food and more.
I loved checking in on Facebook each day to see how people were giving. Stories, ideas and experiences were shared to encourage one another. It was a social media experience unlike any other!
New this year, I had the support and help of nine fellow bloggers behind the scenes. Together we laughed, cried, prayed and rejoiced. I am honored to call these women my friends.
The challenge was most definitely at times, challenging. In my own life, there was illness, family challenges, and the unexpected loss of our family dog. Some days were tough to even leave the house. My giving was by no means extravagant, and often went to my own family. Devoting extra time to my family life and home was perhaps the best giving I have done in a long time.
Throughout the month, I shared special causes and giving ideas from fellow bloggers. In case you missed any of them, learn more about simple ways you can support these worthy organizations:
Thanks to twelve generous sponsors, we also featured giveaways and prizes throughout the month. It was truly a pleasure knowing that each prize was going to an unsuspecting reader, along with another for a local charity.
As November comes to a close, it is my prayer for each of you that starting the crazy holiday shopping season with an intentional focus on giving, rather than getting, will set the tone for a peaceful, meaningful Christmas.
Thank you for joining me on this journey! I hope you will join us next November.
For the LORD your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality and accepts no bribes. He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the alien, giving him food and clothing. Deuteronomy 10:17-18
